Expect More Home Inspections is owned and operated by Lloyd Blankenship, former co-owner of Green 1^st Home Inspections. Lloyd has performed home inspections for over 20 years. Lloyd is a Goodview, Virginia native and Navy Veteran. His daughter Callie is a student at William Byrd High School.

After leaving the Navy, has served the Roanoke Valley in the construction industry for over 20 years.

Lloyd also has experience in Home Energy Audits and completed over 850 audits for Appalachian Power’s Home Performance Program.

Providing outstanding customer service is important to Lloyd and ensuring that his clients receive all necessary information to make a sound decision before purchasing a home is something Lloyd takes great pride in. 					It took me awhile to write this review because I wanted to compile my thoughts and not write a review... read moreIt took me awhile to write this review because I wanted to compile my thoughts and not write a review out of anger. All of the reviews on here seem to be from realtors so I felt that a true customer experience was needed.  My husband and I were first time homebuyers back in early December 2023. We had Expect More Home Inspections inspect our home. Being a first time homebuyer, we relied on Lloyd (the owner of Expect More Home Inspections) to guide us on the ins and outs of the inspection. However, after we had closed on our house we ran into a problem that caused us not to be able to have heat. When we realized that our heat pump/boiler had not been replaced in over 30 years we reached out to our trusted home inspector, since he had not caught it in the written report, or to see if he had any guidance as we had also paid for a radon, WDI, and sewer line inspection and still had (and still have not, now being late February 2024) not received a written report for those three types of inspections. When I spoke to Lloyd he called my husband and I “unknowledgeable” and reiterated that he had told us all of these things in person. He was very rude to us and made us feel stupid. Nothing that he “claimed” to have told us was wrong was documented. When Lloyd ended the conversation with me he told me everything that he was saying I was arguing with so there was no point in continuing the conversation with me because I was so close minded. If you are a homebuyer of any kind who depends on your home inspector to guide you through the process and respect you as a person I would NOT recommend Expect More Home Inspections. I did try to reach out to Lloyd about the written reports for the three extra inspections we paid for and he refused to talk because of my close-mindedness. Moral of the story. You will definitely ‘Expect More’ from this home inspector. read less
